The first dialysis machine developed by Fresenius, the A2008C, was introduced in 1978. For production of the machine, Fresenius opened a new plant in 1979 in the German city of Schweinfurt, Bavaria. Today, almost every second dialysis machine sold worldwide comes from Fresenius Medical Care.
